Katt Williams Claims Kevin Hart Brought Up Tiffany Haddish Beef To Sell Night School Tickets
Katt Williams has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind, even if what's in there is a negative thought or two about another celebrity. Lately, some of those negative musings have been about Kevin Hart. As two of the most popular stand-ups working today, the comedians haven't always seen eye-to-eye, and now Williams is accusing Hart of intensifying the issues between the two to generate publicity and sell tickets for his upcoming movie Night School.
Here's the quote he dropped on Instagram Live...
Everyone just saw that you would do anything to sell a fucking movie... and yeah we going to see it, everyone want to go see Tiffany beat your ass.
It's hard to tell exactly when the bad blood between the two started, but it intensified earlier this year when Katt Williams appeared on Frank And Wanda In The Morning and talked about his confusion over why certain black comedians are elevated to stardom by Hollywood and others aren't. During the conversation, he took several shots at Tiffany Haddish, saying no one could tell you their favorite one of her jokes because she's never proven she can headline a tour or star in her own special. In response, Hart, who has never been shy about speaking his mind either, appeared on The Breakfast Club to defend his co-star and blasted Williams for not taking responsibility for his own actions and for not helping comedians who came after him.

You had the shot. You were the guy. You were set up to be the star. You didn't show up to work... You fucked you... You don't hear Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Kings of Comedy, Seinfeld, George Lopez, Eddie Griffin, Steve Martin, Martin Short, you don't hear the guys who got on top and made it by doing what they love complain about the people coming under them... Don't blame everyone else for your shit.
Obviously, those comments didn't sit too well with Katt Williams who fired back at Kevin Hart over touring. Over the past few years, Hart has widely been sighted as the most popular or one of the several most popular stand-up comedians in the world, both in terms of tickets sold and revenue generated. Katt Williams, however, doesn't really like the fact that much of Hart's touring, at least according to him, has occurred outside the United States and has stayed away from the audiences that originally pushed him to stardom.

I have no idea what's really going on here in terms of motivations. It's always difficult to tell whether people are genuinely offended or they're trying to keep their name in the papers or what. But I must say I love the idea of using boxing/ MMA-style tactics to promote a movie. I have no idea if it would work, but in the age of social media, the idea of Brad Pitt and George Clooney throwing middle fingers at each other ahead of a movie release seems like the next step.
